Hello!  I hope everything is going well for you and your school as we all try to find our way through these difficult and very unusual times. 

Welcome to the “from a distance” version of my Sound!Start Phonics for Letters and Sounds training.  It provides a comprehensive training package specific to the Letters and Sounds programme which covers essential subject knowledge as well as an in-depth exploration of the Letters and Sounds programme.  It is suitable for both leaders and classroom practitioners and will work well as a “top-up” session for schools which have already received some phonics training or consultancy support, and as an introduction to effective phonics teaching for schools wishing to provide their staff with a refresher in phonics, perhaps with a view to building on this through further CPD opportunities when things begin to return to normality. 

The training is organised into six units which will generally take 20-30 minutes to complete.  They can be worked through as a complete training session or used in two or three sections, perhaps during your directed time.  Each unit includes training input delivered through linked video clips.  This is followed by a practical task which will help to embed the main points.  Unit Four is a longer unit which involves some wider reading which can be completed at your own pace.
